Suit up, movie viewers, because the secret agents of England have returned in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, now playing in theaters. Any big fan of spy movies, action movies, or even just casual moviegoers will enjoy this action-packed hit.

The last film, Kingsman: The Secret Service, also got high praise from viewers, and they were ecstatic to learn of the sequel. The viewers’ expectations paid off, but critics were a little disappointed. In my personal opinion, I found the movie very enjoyable and would definitely recommend it if you need to find a movie to see this weekend.

Taron Egerton returns as the slick and charming Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, along with Mark Strong as Merlin. When the very existence of Kingsman is put in jeopardy by a drug cartel lead by the eccentric Poppy (Julianne Moore), the remaining members must band with their American cousins, the Statesman. This new agency features the talents of Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, and Pedro Pascal. Not only that, but a cameo from Elton John himself!

The movie doesn’t waste any time and immediately throws the audience in the action with an epic car chase to kick off the story. The fast pace of the film keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats. There’s no sleeping through this film.

However, no great film is without its flaws. I did find the movie relying too much on the typical spy movie gimmicks. It also did go a bit overboard with the science fiction aspects. However, I believe that the formula of a spy movie, secret agents, delusional masterminds, and awesome gadgets keeps being recycled because it works. Everyone loves a good spy movie. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have seen every James Bond movie ever. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Even though it wasn’t a favorite for critics, I would call Kingsman: The Golden Circle a great film and a must-see for movie goers everywhere.
