Avengers: Infinity War is already making its mark on the world. Having just released its first trailer on November 29, it has managed to smash several records, and as the full movie’s release date approaches, people around the globe can’t wait.
The reception for this trailer from people everywhere has been amazing. As of December 12, it already has two million likes on YouTube and has a whopping 99 million views. But these aren’t the only things impressive about this trailer. Marvel Studios announced on Twitter the debut look for Infinity War is now the most-viewed trailer debut ever. The trailer is currently up to 230 million views in the first 24 hours since its release. This number was able to surpass Stephen King’s It, which was able to get 197 million views in that same time period.
However, not only was this frequently watched on the internet, it was talked about quite a lot as well. According to social analytics firm Fizziology, the film’s trailer drew more mentions on Twitter in the seven hour period after it went live than any film since the company began tracking in 2010. Just to prove its dominance, the new beard sported by Captain America was able to receive more mentions than 72% of all trailers released since 2010. The most recent movie in this series, Avengers: Age of Ultron, was mentioned 210,858 in this seven hour period. Infinity War blew that out of the water with 1,147,438 mentions in the same amount of time. Right behind this movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi with 784,360 mentions, followed by 50 Shades of Grey, Captain America: Civil War, and Black Panther.
Slated for release on May 4, this is a much anticipated movie for 2018. No matter how you may feel about superhero films, this movie is clearly one that will do some truly incredible things in the box office. Now, all we can do is wait as we count the days until we can see the full film.
