This past weekend, I saw the spectacular movie A Star is Born. As the fourth remake of this telling tale, it was definitely one to remember.
This movie is mainly about musician Jackson Maine falling in love with struggling artist Ally. After giving up on her dream of making it big, Ally meets Jackson who pulls her into the spotlight. As Ally’s career takes off, Jackson continues spiralling out of control, battling his own personal problems, pushing their relationship to the ultimate test.
A Star is Born was not only directed by Bradley Cooper, but also starred Lady Gaga in only her second acting role, after being on American Horror Story. Completely shocking the world with not only her beautiful voice but amazing acting skills, Lady Gaga has successfully played the role of Ally. Along with that, Bradley Cooper surprised the world with his amazing singing voice we never knew he had. The chemistry between Lady Gaga and Bradley was palpable, I was unable to look away.
This movie was not only a brilliant love story, but touched base with the struggle of addiction along with depression. In more than one scene, the audience was able to see Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) fight off his addiction for Ally, but in the end was unable to succeed.
Overall, this was, in my opinion, one of the best movies I have ever seen. It successfully portrays a beautiful love story shared between two musicians, yet shows the struggles and fight to stay afloat. Fueled by strong performances, A Star is Born is a moving and tear-jerking love story that leaves a deep impact on those who have watched it.
We give A Star is Born 5/5 Arrowheads
